Growing out of the faithfulness of Cornerstone Church of Knoxville and the faith of a growing group of folks, Trinity Grace Church will begin gathering on Sunday, October 28 in Athens, Tennessee.

Our history is quite simple.

For the past 27 years, Cornerstone Church of Knoxville has been faithfully preaching the gospel under the senior leadership of Bill Kittrell. Over ten years ago, several folks from Athens began attending Cornerstone. This group from Athens continued to grow.

Within a few years, Cornerstone started a small group in Athens, in hopes that members who lived there could cultivate honest, close relationships during the week. Relationships were strengthened and the group continued to grow. Several years later, we added another small group.

In the fall of 2017, it became clear to Cornerstone that the Lord seemed to be encouraging them to plant a church in Athens, Tennessee. Cornerstone desired not just to be a faithful, gospel-centered church; they desired to plant other churches.

The folks in Athens responded enthusiastically! They loved being a part of Cornerstone Church but are very excited about planting a church in Athens, Tennessee—the place they call home and the people to whom God has called them.

So, in the beginning of 2018, the planting of Trinity Grace Church was officially announced and preparations have been rapidly taking place.

Our desire is that this church plant would be a faithful church for years to come and would bless Athens significantly.

Lord willing, Trinity Grace will have its first public meeting on Sunday, October 28.
